A juice orange is called “juice orange” at the moment size or diameter is included between 60- and 80-mm. This diameter corresponds to size 6, 7 and 8. Naranja de zumo definición:

Una naranja de zumo es denominada “naranja de zumo” en el momento en el que su calibre o sea su diámetro este comprendido entre 60 y 80 mm. Este diámetro corresponde a los calibres 6,7 y 8. En realidad todas las naranjas sirven para exprimir zumo de naranja natural porque son cítricos que contienen zumo por naturaleza. Sin embargo las naranjas “pequeñas” son ideales para los exprimidores de naranjas automáticos porque se adaptan perfectamente a los tambores de las máquinas. Además son las naranjas que ofrecen el mejor rendimiento en cuanto a contenido de zumo comparado con las naranjas llamadas “de mesa”.

La temporada de las naranjas de zumo en España inicia generalmente a partir de noviembre con la Navelina y termina a finales de junio con la Valencia Late. Las zonas de producción de cítricos en España se ubican principalmente a orillas del litoral Mediterráneo. España es actualmente el primer productor de naranjas de zumo en Europa y el primer exportador mundial. Las naranjas de zumo están disponibles todo el año ya que cuando termina la campaña en nuestro país la producción del Hemisferio Sur toma el relevo.
